Insights Tours specializes in showing you the depth and breadth of the areas we visit. We carefully plan our itineraries with the aim of engaging you in an authentic and memorable experience.

Our tours visit places that may be off the beaten track, unusual or well-kept local secrets. You'll experience a broad and diverse range of attractions. Not just cultural and scenic but historical and industrial. Sometimes this means we arrange special one off visits to sites and facilities which may not normally be available to the public. Insights Tours can include inspections of artisan workshops and factories producing goods specific or important to the region.

All of our tours feature comprehensive and insightful guided touring, all meals, good accommodation and are fully escorted.

All our tours are personally escorted so you can relax in the confidence that all of the pesky administrative details and arrangements are being taken care of.

All our tours are designed to provide a spacious and comfortable travelling experience. The number of passengers is restricted to ensure that guided tours and visits are of most benefit. The maximum number of passengers is specified in each tour itinerary and is dependent on the type of tour and the means of transportation and places to be visited.

Insights Tours engages our own guides to ensure that our passengers have the best insight into the location being visited.

How we travel

Each tour presents its own opportunity for various modes of transport - depending on the region, the country, the historical perspective and practicalities: you could be traveling in a heritage railcar or on a chartered train, a spacious modern coach, a ferry or at other times by light aircraft, chartered launch, outrigger canoe or a combination of several of these modes.

We travel by planes, trains and automobiles . . . and ferries, outrigger canoe and on foot for short distances - depending on the location and the attraction.

Insights Tours arranges comfortable, quality accommodation with ensuite facilities of a 3 or 4 star standard. We usually include all meals and always provide complimentary bottled water.

Passenger numbers are limited to ensure a commodious travelling experience and to ensure that visits and guided tours are of maximum benefit. We always specify the maximum number of guests for each tour.

About us

Insights Tours is a boutique tour company operated by father-and-son team, Paul and John Tuckerman. We are based in the city of Wollongong, on the east coast of Australia.

We are both fully qualified IATA travel consultants and Insights Tours is a full member of the Travel Compensation Fund. Our licence number is 2TA5859

We have proven experience designing, arranging and escorting tours in a wide variety of places including Tasmania, NSW and Queensland, New Caledonia, Lord Howe Island, India and the Australian Outback.

Our experience includes arranging travel and accommodation to the remotest corners of the globe including Central Africa and South America.
